Delphos served as the financial advisor to KOOBA Data Centres, an entity formed to build, own and operate data centers in East Africa, beginning in Mombasa, Kenya. Delphos assisted the company by building its financial models, structuring debt and guarantee solutions, supporting commercial negotiations with vendors, and helping the shareholders raise capital for the launch of its first data center. In 2016, Delphos helped the company secure a $10.8 million EPC guarantee from UK-based GuarantCo for the benefit of KOOBA’s intended construction contractor, Flexenclosure Sweden. The guarantee was intended to provide a payment guarantee upon completion to Flexenclosure who was delivering a turn-key Tier III data center.
