In the pursuit of sustainable commercial solutions for plastic waste management, Delphos is proud to announce its collaboration with VAO Energy, marking a significant stride towards a greener and more responsible future.

This partnership is set to revolutionize plastic recycling in Thailand and the region through a pioneering US Trade & Development Agency-funded feasibility study aimed at establishing the viability of a large-scale pyrolysis-based plastic recycling plant.

The Delphos team, alongside Ashwin Chugani, Managing Director, and Founder of VAO, and members of the team directing the feasibility study, have been diligently working on this ground-breaking project.

A focal point of this endeavor is to investigate the potential of modern pyrolysis technology in transforming plastic waste into valuable resources. Pyrolysis offers a sustainable solution that aligns with global efforts to reduce plastic pollution and promote the circular economy. Together with VAO, Delphos undertook critical site visits and evaluations to prove the project’s bankability and investment readiness.

Thus far in this journey, the Delphos-led team has undertaken five site visits to Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs) in Thailand. These visits were instrumental in comprehending the intricacies of plastic waste supply, a critical component of any recycling project’s success. The most recent site visit, conducted on September 15, 2023, took the team to a small commercial MRF in Pathum Thani province, Thailand.

The collaboration between VAO and Delphos represents a significant move towards a greener, more sustainable future. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and the support of the chemical industry, they are poised to transform plastic recycling in the region and set a positive example for the world.
