Delphos Wins Technical Assistance Contract in Myanmar
Delphos International was selected by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (“USTDA”) to provide technical assistance to Myanmar’s Ministry of Electric Power (“MOEP”). The Delphos team will seek to identify and rank independent power producer (“IPP”) projects that are under consideration by MOEP; streamline the process of evaluation, selection, and development of proposed power projects; and ensure an appropriate IPP risk allocation structure with bankable forms of project agreements. Electricity demand in Myanmar is expected to increase more than fivefold by 2030, which will require an additional 20,000 MW of generation capacity, hence implementing a new standardized evaluation process is critical to the MOEP’s efforts to expand and modernize the electrical system. As part of the year-long engagement, Delphos International will have a full time project manager residing in Myanmar.
