November 7, 2019

The Western Cape Government published a Delphos International-led feasibility study for a proposed integrated LNG importation and midstream project in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. Delphos was supported by FTI Consulting, Granherne, PRDW Africa, and Webber Wentzel. The study assessed the viability of the importation of LNG at Saldanha Bay likely through an FSRU and the development of gas storage, transmission, and distribution infrastructure in the province, and the utilization of LNG to generate electricity for power generation and industrial purposes. The project has estimated project costs of over $1.5 bn and is expected to be developed as a PPP.
